Remedy Medical Group: Sontag Mark MD

Dr. Sontag has been amazing. I was referred to him by another doctor I respect and couldn't be happier with the referral. I met him after a year of chronic sciatic pain due to two slipped discs. I'd done everything I could think of or people had suggested to deal with the problem - another physiatrist, an orthopedic surgeon, an osteopath, and people for acupuncture, physical therapy, posture, Feldenkrais and more - but couldn't get better. I am now pain free and working with him on getting back to full strength.

He works with a number of professional athletes (pictures and articles in his office) and I wondered if he could help me with my problems. I was reassured by his manner and the other people like me I saw in his office. He is knowledgeable, kind, thorough and a good listener. I appreciate that he addresses my concerns about treatment of the physical pain as well as the implications on my work and personal life and the psychological strain. He also makes sure to answer all my questions and asks if I have any others. I'm truly grateful for his care.

I have never met a doctor more caring, creative, thorough, and specific about how to heal and what the plan of care should be. When he examines you, he thinks about your condition. He performs exams without creating undo pain. He treats everyone with respect, and works long hours so he can spend time with patients without feeling rushed. You may wait to see him, but this doctor is worth the wait, and in my case, worth traveling out of state to continue seeing him.
