I always try to go to a barber or cosmotology college to cut my hair and they did a great job with mine.
As a student of BAHI I’ve been here for a year and some change and all I gotta say is that I learned more then what I expected from the instructors and students. Before I came to BAHI I searched throughout the bay area for barber schools and out all of the schools BAHI was the only one that caught my eye and that’s saying a lot because I have to commute an hour everyday to participate for class. Now for those looking for a cheap hair cut in the Bay Area this is the place to be you’ll pay $15 but you’ll come out with a $40 cut depending on who you get. The barber school also doesn’t feel like a barber school instead it actually feels like a barber shop with multiple conversations going on you and you can hop in at any moment to say what u need to say. There’s nothing but good vibes and we as students of BAHI we want everybody to look good and show off our work as we are trying to build a set group of cleintel and have people feel good about themselves. Come and get a cut at BAHI :)
If you’ve been cutting friends and family’s hair at home in your garage and finally considering barbering as a profession, come here and get your hours done. Don’t hesitate. Sam and Marque are easy going and will get you on the right path. Better now than later. Like I said, don’t hesitate. Just stop by and talk to Marque and get your wheels rolling and before you know it you’ll be out the garage and in a shop.
PS: I’ve seen these bad reviews about the cuts here but please be mindful that this is a college. The students are constantly changing and some students have more experience than others. So if you want a great haircut id suggest you do your research and watch these student barbers work before you choose the one for you. Maybe you’ll figure it out on your first try, maybe your second, but i guarantee there is always a student that can give you the style you’re looking for.
I’ve been a student here for a short time now, but its been a great experience so far. Despite the tough times we are in right now, the school is very understanding and accommodating. My peers and instructors make your hours go by quick.
When it comes to this shop you need to take into consideration the individuals who are cutting your hair. You can either have students who are learning or go to Sam who’s a great barber. I’ve been getting my haircut from Sam for over 5 years and can say he’s a very chill person that builds a great relationship with all of his customers. Some people may not like the way they talk in the shop but you need to realize that their young guys who are just being themselves.
