  Beautiful hiking spot with trails at all levels and a lot of variation in scenery.

  One of the most beautiful county parks in the area. Well-maintained trails and really good facilities.

  I did a long hike here to mountain terrace and ate lunch at Alice's restaurant. On the way there was an abandoned pond that a lot of reptiles use. There's also a big meadow. Some friends saw a big snake while they were walking around the meadow, but I was resting on a bench and didn't see it.

  A beautiful hiking spot with the 5 mile, 1,000 foot elevation hike being our regular. There are shortcuts if that's too much. It's very well shaded so can be done in summer too. Can get quite busy so park on the road if the lot is full (it is full most of the time). They recently added some pit toilets if you have to go. There are also some stables, trail rides and a museum with very restricted opening.

  A great county park with a multitude of trials that gradually ascend the hillside. As you continue on the trails the ecosystem of the forest changes and the trees increase in height and change form eucalyptus to redwoods the high in elevation you go. Trails vary from wide multi use such as hikers, bikers, and horse riders to only hiking trails which are much narrower. Peaceful setting within the forest which gives you a sense of solitude.
