  I’m getting ready for my 4th stay at Monarch Cove Inn. I absolutely love this place. Most beautiful scenery and lovely cottages/rooms.

  The Monarch Butterfly Inn, in Capitola, Calif, is one of the most, beautiful, gracious, and sweetly accommodating Inns, I have ever had the pleasure of staying. I am on Hospice through, UCD, Sacramento, Ca, who along with the Dream Foundation aka dreamfoundation.org arranged for me to stay here, as my end of life wish, with my family. The rooms are classical as well as magical, full of character and charm. Just driving up, took my breath away. The Inn is over a hundred years old, so the history is evident. Walking underneath arbors, filled with beautiful ferns, tropical colorful flowers, with a beautiful fountain to sit next to, brought me such peace. The provided, a spectacular breakfast, with trays filled with pastries, fresh juice, cut up glasses filled with fresh fruit, various yogurts, fresh coffee & cream, which was such a nice morning pleasure. The staff is professional and made me and my family feel at home. The Monarch Butterfly Inn, is all about the view. The water is calm here in the cove, you can look out and see paddleboarders off in the calmness paddling at measure, along with canoes, and people fishing. If you've never heard of them, please look them up, they are a hidden secret to behold. ????

  Liked · On arrival the lady who greeted us was so welcoming & gave us an upgrade because they weren't full, she said this was customary if they had room, luck for us that they did. We liked that it was in a neighborhood with houses & very quite away from the town but still walking distance to all that you needed.i This is not hotel rooms, it is cottages of different sizes to suit all set in beautiful gardens. Our cottage had a beautiful draped bed with a seating area & table/chairs where we had our continental breakfast that was amazing, fruit, granola, yogurt & pastries. The bathroom was huge with bath & shower, beautiful marble. The cottages are on a cliff overlooking the Ocean, there are steps & a path leading down but sadly we didn't have time to explore that as it was raining when we there in Dec. We definitely will be returning to this amazing Gem.
  
  Disliked · The rain on the evening we stayed because we couldn't walk down on the beach in the morning. Next time we won't go in Dec, saying that it is usually a good time to go.

  Beautiful rooms, perfect for a romantic getaway. Ours had a sweet bay window dining alcove with beautiful waterfront views all around. The property is older and has a Victorian charm, and each room is unique. The property is beautiful and well-kept. The staff was great. Prices are really reasonable on weekdays. Location is great. As a nice bonus, we had dinner at the Shadowbrook, and found they have complementary pickup and dropoff at Monarch Cove Inn.

  This is our second stay and I have to say it is as nice as our first. I love the history and Victorian architecture. The location is perfect. If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful retreat, this is it! The staff is very nice and accommodating. The spacious rooms offer period decor and are very clean. The grounds and views from the rooms are amazing! Sincere thanks to the Blodgett family for keeping the traditions and continuing standards of this magical place on the California Coast.
