The Top Story

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Our daughter was graduating from a leadership camp in Portola, so we made our stay into a weekend. Wendy was kind enough to let us know about local happenings and make recommendations so that we could make reservations for events and restaurants there ahead of time. The house is set up perfectly with a private space that was very easily accessible, including parking in the driveway. It is decorated so thoughtfully with antiques and cozy furniture. The owners have worked very hard to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay (the homemade peanut butter cookies were the best!). Communication was above and beyond prompt and helpful. The location is quiet and within walking distance of everything we needed. We wouldn't change a thing and will definitely stay here again in the future.

The Top Story is a wonderful place to stay. Ultra clean and well appointed, Wendy has thought of everything. The beds are comfortable. The yard is charming, a wonderful place to enjoy your coffee, read a book or paint a picture! The hosts are super helpful in assisting the guests to enjoy the surrounding area.

The Top Story is such a peaceful,yet cozy place to stay. Beautiful area with lots of outdoor activities to do. The hosts are very personable and friendly.

A top notch, characteristic, and inviting place to curl up and spend the night. My time in the Sierras would not have been the same if I hadn't stayed at Don and Wendy's The Top Story apartment. They were very welcoming guests throughout my stay of which I well enjoyed. Thank you, again! Meeting AbraHAM was a bonus! :)

Wendy is a wonderful host and friend. She is very responsive, but gives you plenty of personal space. The town of Loyalton is a very pleasant, quiet place to walk around and is nearby to many good hiking locations.

I got this airbnb as a temporary spot while moving. Wendy was an unbelievable in reaching out to the community and helping us find a place to rent in town within 2 days of arriving! It just goes to show that Don and Wendy will make sure that you are taken care of when you are staying under their roof.
