I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Aguwa. He truly cares about his patients and providing the best care for your individual circumstances. On my original consult, Dr. Aguwa said I was a good candidate for surgery but we could try to resolve the issue first with PT and Cortisone shots to see if it was possible to avoid surgery. After 9 mos. of PT, three cortisone shots and drastically altering my lifestyle, I decided I was ready to talk surgery and reclaim my active lifestyle. I wish I would have done so sooner but am so happy with the outcome and know we tried everything possible before taking the surgical route. Dr. Aguwa was so supportive and encouraging through the entire process and 7 wks post surgery, I was hiking 5 miles in the mountains. I have referred friends to Dr. Aguwa who feel as lucky as I did to have such a conservative and caring physician treating them.

Doctor Aguwa is not just an excellent doctor; he is a super-nice guy! He was very direct in helping me understand my injury, and the options for treatment. He helped me with my permanent back injury by referring me to lots of other treatment providers, because I am not yet a good candidate for surgery. His advice and assistance has helped me enormously.

Dr. Aguwa provided amazing care which alleviated 100% of my disc-related issues in a surprising amount of time. The surgery was painless, easy, quick, and I was back to my daily routine in no time. I honestly find myself forgetting that I ever even had the surgery!

My experience with Dr. Aguwa has been incredibly GOOD and far better than what I had expected.

I had several different aliments in my back and spine due to a lot of hard work and natural causes, I suffered for over 12 years because of it. This last year, I became unable to stand or walk without pain or lopsidedness. With a new rate of decline I was now experiencing, I gave myself two more months before I was scooter bound. I was in extreme pain while standing, sitting and, a good part of the time while lying down.

Dr. Aguwa consulted with me several times, explained in detail the procedure he was recommending. The Doctor spoke in a clear language I could understand, taking as much time as required to answer all of the questions my family and I had.

After 5 hours of surgery at the hands of Dr. Aguwa, and 3 ½ days in the hospital where he kept a close watch, I went home to continue my recovery.
I returned to work (an office job) the third week, my back and legs were pain-free! Two months after surgery, I felt better than I had in over 12 years and I am now looking for reasons to walk and negotiate stairs.

Dr. Aguwa’s surgical expertise, accompanied by some true talent and care for his patients, has got me back on my feet and feeling AMAZINNG!!!!!

I experienced a catastrophic back injury in February of 2018, involving damage to a15 year old previous L5/S1 spinal fusion hardware.
Diagnosis occured, only after 3 months of Insurance company refusal to pay for an MRI.
Time was wasted, by Insurance Company mandating the usual Physical Therapy, and Spinal shots.
Finally, when the MRI was ordered by my Primary Provider, did we realize the extent of damage.

I've had several hospitalizations and Surgeries in my life, but none, as well handled, as was Dr. AGUWA and his team at Denver Spine Specialists, and Rose Hospital.
Dr. Aguwa's expertly performed sugery, brought immeadiate post surgical relief from what was the most painful experience of my life.
I am and always will be grateful for what he accomplished.
