Come early to get parking. Before 8am on weekends. Do not bring your pets.
1/13/18 started out at 6:30am with lite snow falling. Was able to record the sun coming up through the falling snow. Didn’t have snowshoes on till about 2 miles in, then the snow went from 3-4 inches to well over 12 inches. I didn’t make it to the lake, but I got close.
This was a great place to go hiking I went to with my family and there is so much more thank just the regular path there is little walk through the woods and you can rent a horse it's amazing here I wish I had all year to spend in this amazing place. If you have the time I would come here. I wish I had pictures to show and see myself. I have memories that will last forever here I hope you do too.
Sandbeach Lake is accessible from the Sandbeach Lake Trailhead, immediately adjacent to the Wild Basin Entrance Station in the southeast region of Rocky Mountain National Park. Directions to Trailhead From Boulder, take Highway 36 north 14 miles to the town of Lyons.

Sandbeach Lake is best known for (as you can probably guess) its wide sandy shore. At nearly 50 feet deep, it is one of Rocky Mountain National Parks deepest lakes. This moderate trail is well marked and easy to navigate. The majority of the hike to the lake is uphill.
