In the short time I've been coming here, I've found solace in what little I can with my life. I'm always looking forward to my appointments. My therapist has gone above and beyond what I ever expected, isn't stuffy at all with me. I feel more like a person and less like a client or a mental illness stigma when I come here and that has meant the world to me. Thank you so much.

The notion of going into private practice was unfathomable to me at this time last year. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to meet with the Director of YOUnique counseling (Sean Boyd) in October of 2011 in which he sold me on his vision of developing a Practice that consists of a family of therapists who work in collaboration with one another to ensure a product that emphasizes best practice. His passion about developing something which focus is exclusively on how to make quality mental health services accessible to anyone who is in need was a creed I could easily support. I am now in a position in which I am surrounded by a group of fellow therapists who share my passion in the gift of therapy. This environment has proven to be one that not only has allowed me to grow as a psychotherapist; but just as importantly, has connected me with individuals in a way that has allowed me to become a better human being.

My two priorities in starting my private practice were serving my clients and maintaining self-care. I found the perfect match in YOUnique Counseling, which offers me the resources to help others effectively, to grow as a clinician, and to benefit from personal and professional support from colleagues. As its name suggests, YOUnique is a distinctive concept, unlike any other group practice I have encountered. YOUnique Counseling provides an invaluable service to therapists and clients alike. For therapists YOUnique offers the chance to work in private practice but be able to have the support and camaraderie that one would get working in an agency setting. As a therapist I am so grateful to have found such a great place to work with a great team and a large number of resources. One of the great aspects for clients is that there are a wide array of therapists with varying specialities to choose from so they are able to find the right fit for them.
