Safeway Gas Station

I spoke with the owner, a very kind elderly woman, and it's clear she cares about running a good business. I drive way out of the way to come here because their prices are always some of the lowest I've found in Denver!

Savings on the pump are definitely appreciated at times like this with the high gas prices.

If you live in Roxborough, this is super convenient. You can drive 15 minutes to save a few cents a gallon.

Inside, there's a nice Garlic Knot. I enjoy the food, but it's busy during lunch and dinner (the times that you're mostly likely going to want to visit).

The reason that I don't give this five stars is the congestion and the maintenance on the pumps. The islands seem like they were designed to be used by cars approaching from the south. There have been arrows painted on the asphalt to guide traffic, but they're ignored. The main traffic seems to come in from the west. When it's busy, it's a real frustration.

The other problem is that the pumps seem to constantly be out of order. Either there'll be a cone in front or you'll pull in and find out that the reader at the pump is broken and you have to go in and pre-pay. Not the end of the world, but it is inconvenient when it's busy.

The staff treats me like family every time I'm here. They are so welcoming I will go in to pay for my gas instead of using pay at the pump any time I have time.
