Oleo Acres Farrier And Blacksmith Supply

I stopped by Oleo Acres for my first time the other day and picked up a set of 12" wolf jaw tongs and a Peddinghaus French style hammer. I put a char finish and Tung oiled the handle, I'll be dressing the face and peen as well. The selection of items to choose from was great, the customer service was fantastic. There was a Swedish pattern hammer I was looking for, and the owner brought it from a store up North for me and the price was even lower than expected. I'll be back again soon.

Initial thought walking in the door:

The young lady that greeted me upon entering was warm and welcoming. I asked if they had dust masks and she immediately pointed to the shelf where they were located. So right away the first employee I spoke with had product knowledge and placement in the store so we were off to a good start. I asked some other questions related to knife making supplies and was directed to Rob. Rob was a super nice guy and very knowledgeable about the trade and the things necessary to succeed in it. He pointed me in the direction of the things I was looking for and sent me shopping. I had several questions throughout my visit to the store and he was happy to indulge my need for conversation about knife making. All in all was an excellent experience and I will be recommending them to any and all makers that I know locally. If I could give them 10 stars I would.
