  Been here a four times now for lunch, dinner, and weekend breakfast. Great home style cooking in Elizabeth with an attentive staff. These folks CARE about what they're doing! Great prices too. Highly recommend. I'm not sure when some of the other reviews were given, but perhaps it's when Bernie's was a bit newer and they were still working out the links. Haven't had any issues with poor service.
  Update January 4, 2019. Just had their new menu items... Brisket and pulled pork. Both delicious. Better yet, short wait time. They got rid of items that don't sell well and hold up the preparation time. Come see for yourself.

  I absolutely love and enjoy the food and atmosphere here. The quality of your meals is like a well cooked meal at grandma's house that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The staff is very friendly and welcoming to all ages. You just have to experience it for yourself!

  Best home cookin in Elizabeth. Can't beat a family friendly restaurant. The food is amazing and kids eat free on Thursday. You have got to check them out. I also love their biscuits and gravy for breakfast. My favorite place!
