Great museum covering Buffalo Bill’s life and times. Just $5 for adults about an hours worth of material.
What I liked about the museum and Lookout Mountain was the link back three generations to a time so different from today. A lot of information and memorabilia help tell a story of a popular personality who actually was an early proponent and leader for women's rights, racial equality and cultural acceptance before the concepts were commandeered by idealogues and exploitative politicians. It was also intetesting to see the broad U.S. and international impact Buffalo Bill and 'The West' had - and has even today.
Very interesting and informative museum. Beautiful scenery. Amazing hot chocolate. If you love Buffalo Bill or don't know anything about him this is a must see
Oh man, this place is absolutely awesome. The two times I have been there, there were plenty of people but it wasn’t overrun with tourists taking selfies. Buffalo Bill’s story is incredible and this museum has an abundant inventory of authentic historic memorabilia from his life. The museum does a great job of telling the story of his life’s passages. Be sure to see the movie loop. There is actual film showing him and other performers in the show. Also, be sure to try some of the fresh home-made fudge!
I could not believe how much history there was in such a moderately sized museum. The vista was stunning as well and the site of the grave perfect for such an historical figure. I also was happy that my misinformed past, believing he killed buffalo by the millions, has been corrected. William Cody was a true American pioneer and protector of buffalo, the environment and our great Indian brethren. May he rest in peace forever.
