  We met with a few contractors to get quotes and input on a basement finishing project for our approximately 800 square ft.unfinished basement.
  
  Two contractors told us we couldn’t finish the entire basement because our HVAC trunk that ran down the center of the basement would not meet code (about 2-3 inches below code) and It would be unlikely that town would issue a permit. However, after meeting with Greg, he advised that we could apply for a state modification that would allow us to finish the entire basement.
  
  He was very informative and professional. He provided us with a detailed and comprehensive well and set our expectations accordingly with respect to the timeline to complete the project.
  
  We decided to move forward with Sunset Custom Basements for the project and we are so happy that we did so. He took care of applying for both permits. He did a phenomenal job on our basement and kept us informed throughout the whole period. He has a great work ethic and paid close attention to detail and delivered a quality end product and our entire family is enjoying our new space.
  
  I highly recommend them for a basement finishing project.

  ​Greg did an absolutely wonderful job finishing our basement! He paid attention to all of the details and kept the entire process moving along smoothly. Greg was extremely considerate with keeping everything clean and in all aspects was the ultimate professional. The job was done how we discussed and was finished on time.​ Highly recommend!

  We reviewed several local quotes to finish our walk out basement here in Shelton, CT. We were fortunate to arrange the work with Gregg and Sunset Custom Basements. The work was excellent, finished per the arranged schedule/cost, and added value to our home. Two of our neighbors have already made inquires with Gregg. We are very satisfied with our new fully finished basement. We would definitely call Gregg in the future for other home improvement projects.

  I cannot say enough about this company ! We had a flood in our basement and they not only fixed it, they transformed it into a Den/playroom for my daughter and added a 1/2 bath as well. They designed it and transformed it better than I could have ever thought to do. They also replaced the carpet with a great floor that looks like a hardwood and the best part is it will not be damaged if we ever have another flood ( hopefully never again) They were always on time , cleaned up after themselves and they employee very polite and kind employees . I trusted them to give them a key and most of the work was done while we were at work. I would recommend them to anyone and I hope to use them again for future work in my home . 10 stars !
