My 300 Verado experienced hydrolock just before Labor Day 2018, bending a connecting rod, when I suddenly reduced throttle to idle to avoid a mostly submerged object. My insurance adjuster said the Almars representative was so knowledgeable and clear about the hydrolock damage and causation that she approved a factory reman without the prolonged delay to have a diagnostic tear down completed, followed by insurance company inspection and possible argument over coverage details. Almars offered a quick turn around on a factory reman, or an overhauled power head with better warranty or a new engine. I elected to pay the difference for a new engine they had in stock and was back boating without problems far quicker than I would have expected. My experience with Almars tells me they are not a fancy show room shop but a serious, knowlegable and capable full service shop that also does new engine sales. I have lived on the water and boated extensively for over fifty years here and in the Florida Keys typically owning multiple boats with multiple engines.
Best service ever !!!! We had 2 issues with our outboard in the past month , and took it to Almars and we had the boat back the next day each time!! It was fixed and running great !!!! Very nice people working there also , they always say hi when they see you , even if they don’t know you and they explain what they had to do to fix the issue !!! And please understand that obviously if your outboard has a major issue , you probably won’t get it back the next day !! My point is that when I drop my boat off , they get to it right away and diagnose the problem , and if it’s a minor repair , they take care of it right away and have you back in the water quick !!! I have had experiences in the past with other outboard repair shops that I take my boat to , and it takes over a week or more before they even look at it !!! And then another week or 2 before it’s ready !!!! Almars mechanics are awesome and Jack is very helpful and honest and cares about his customers . And the young lady that writes up my repair ticket and aslo takes the payments when it’s done is the kindest lady you could meet , I am so sorry I never got her name , but she is always there and is very professional and nice !!!
Great customer service! I needed a re-manufactured power head for a 2000 2.5L 200 Merc shipped to Texas. They had it in stock at a reasonable price and were able to get it to me in under a week. Highly recommend this shop.
True professionals! Took my boat to be repowered with a remanufactured 250 optimax, they had it done 2 days ahead and did excellent finish work to make it look brand new.
Great and honest business. Had them install a 115 hp Mercury and couldn't be happier. Workmanship is top notch!
