  I'm really happy with the service provided. Everything was on time, and the doctor was very quick with the exam. My eyes didn't have to be dilated for exam, which is great and works for me. Dr Mirra was very professional, and very kind!

  Caring, Compassionate, Generous Staff
  I had just flown in to Newark from Atlanta to visit my sister this summer. As a contact wearer for over 20 years I always follow the most important rule of travel: Always Bring Spare Contacts. For the first time ever, I forgot! And of course one of mine ripped that very day. Total Emergency. I called my sister's eye doctor to see if I could purchase a spare lens, and they said no, not to a non-patient. I ended up driving by Halpern and stopped in on the off chance that I could buy one from them. They not only had a spare lens, in my prescription, they gave it to me for free!! They were so kind and generous to a complete stranger. I wish I lived nearby because I would definitely love to go to a doctor that cares about people like they do. Added Bonus: The contact they gave me was for my eye with the astigmatism. It works and feels so much better than the lens I had been using that I asked my eye doctor to change me to that one. Thanks Halpern!! You saved me.

  My experience there was great. Dr. Mirra was very thorough examining my eyes, and patiently explained to me about my eye health. He recommended that I get smaller frames, as they would help me see better with bifocals. The staff person Dave patiently helped me pick out suitable frames for this, as well as in what I could afford and like. At first, my insurance company said I wasn't covered, even though I had enrolled, so Dave helped me pick frames I could pay for. By the time I picked up my glasses, the insurance company had rectified its mistake, and now there was paperwork to be filled out so I could get reimbursed. Again, Dave had the patience of Job helping me fill out this paperwork. A great experience!
