Off the beaten path, sort of. Very nice place, good bike trails.
Squirrels, white pines, willows and a great view from both sides of the Boundary Channel - between Arlington VA and DC.
This is a wonderful outdoor walking trail, grove, and bridge. There are grassy areas, a meadow, pine trees, a stone sculpture, and, on the river side, a sweeping view of the Potomac River, the Key Bridge, and the Washington Monument. There are boat rentals. Tourists, walkers, and joggers fill the trail. Wildlife, including Aquatic and land animals abound.
Beautiful place to visit. There's a short walk into the park and you get a lovely view of the Washington Memorial. Across the Potomac river.
Lovely shaded memorial to Lyndon B. Johnson on a site along the river where he and his wife would visit during his time in the White House. Even with the parkway there, it is pleasant spot to sit. Four LBJ quotes surround the monument built with granite from his native state of Texas. Gorgeous view across the river to the Washington Monument.
