I was in an accident last year and had lower back pain for months. The pain progressively got worse due to my herniated discs. The biggest issue was my L5-S1. The disc pushed out 5mm and was compressing a nerve which led to agonizing pain. I could not sit up for more than 5 minutes, couldn't walk too long, and spent months on bed rest. As an active 26-year-old, that is no way to live life. I feared that it would get worse If I did not get it taken care of. I went to see Dr. Myers and he recommended a microdiscectomy. Once I had it done, I had immediate relief! I was apprehensive to have any type of surgery, but I am so glad I did it. Dr. Myers and his staff are absolutely amazing! They genuinely care about their patients and I highly recommend Spine Solutions to everyone.

I have to say that I have never experienced the kind of pain I had...let's just start there! When I had back problems I was not expecting the kind of pain I had shooting down my leg, knee problem, and hip. The nerve pain I had put me in a depression and pain that I barely knew if I could get through the day or even wanted to,..(let's just keep it real!). Some of you may know EXACTLY what I'm talking about! I had spinal fusion with Dr. Myers! Everything went great..I'm a direct person,.just give things straight to me..and he keeps it real too! It has been less than 2 months now..my nerve pain is gone..my knee, hip, and back feel great..I forgot what "normal" was..it's been so long! Remember it's always a process...and everyone's body is different. Dr. Myers did his job and after that..you have to push yourself to get better and get moving when you have to..Follow their recommendations! Nurse practitioner is great! Staff is great! I also have to give a shout out to Broward Medical..the nursing staff and doctors all involved were great! Everyone was patient with my struggle. The experience has humbled me..it's a time in your life you feel quite vulnerable when you go through it! Thank you Dr. Myers and ALL HIS STAFF AT SPINE SOLUTIONS..Hollywood, FL!

I can relate to being in so much pain I could only find slight relief by laying down, which doesn't make for a very productive day. I was in horrible, agonizing pain before surgery.

Six years ago I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, pars fracture and multiple disc herniations which protruded into my spinal nerves, causing an impingement. My right leg would go numb in the beginning after standing or walking on hard surfaces for thirty minutes.

The timing for the onset of my numbness continued to decrease over time, to the point that I could not stand or walk for 5 minutes without losing sensation in my leg. After a year, I sought the advice of surgeons who told me I would never compete in jiu jitsu again after their suggested procedure. So I told them to pound salt, upped my PT, trained and competed like a bear on borrowed time.

I set my jiu jitsu goals and smashed through them, earning three World Championships, two PanAmerican Championships, and two F2W Belts.

Unfortunately, last year my condition progressively worsened to the point where I was unable to walk, stand, or sit without being in excruciating pain. It was finally time to address my injury.

I sought the expertise of those who had undergone this procedure, meeting Nick Bualoo at VRMA. Nick had the same surgery and was rolling extremely well. After our porrada round I picked his brain for answers, leaving reassured that jiu jitsu wouldn't end, but it may change the way I train (eliminating slams, big throws, etc.)... which was probably a smarter idea considering my journey thus far.

My recovery hasn't been easy. It has been a very slow, methodical process which started with a few minutes of walking every day, slightly increasing the distance and time. I leveraged the expertise of two physical therapists to guide me throughout the past six months while my Soulmate kept me from overtraining myself. It's truly taken a team to get me to where I am today. I am extremely grateful and would highly recommend Dr. Myers to anyone experiencing numbness or pain. This has truly been a life changing experience.

Spine surgery is a very complex surgery and I was very nervous after I had a failed surgery from another doctor to get help. I could barely walk before I seen Dr. Myers and he got me back on my feet. He’s very consistent and listens. I’d highly recommend him to friends and family.
