(March 21, 2019, 11:06 am)I loved it I hontoon island. The people are great. The water in the bathroom showers was good and hot. Camp Host Tom was the all around guy. He seemed to do a lot around there and was very helpful. No matter the need or question he was our go to guy. Thanks Tom!! All of the staff was great. The place is beautiful and we met a lot of people in the week we were there. I recommend the site to anyone. They are accommodating and fun. Lots of things to see and do I the island. Had a great time.

(November 13, 2018, 11:31 pm)Hidden gem of the state parks. Free 5-minute ferry to this well kept little island. It stays pretty busy, so plan to wait a bit to catch the ferry, especially since they max out around 6 passengers per trip (on a boat that could easily fit 10+). But totally worth the wait. Friendly park rangers and lots to do. Between the welcome center, little historic museum, walking and biking trails, camping facilities, stellar playground and a shoreline designed for fishing, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Have lived in the area for 13 years and am totally bummed we didn't find this beautiful, sweet little island sooner. Definitely more trips being scheduled in the near future. Oh, and by the way, they're dog friendly!
