(November 27, 2019, 10:51 am)I bought a couple of boxes of non-perishable food because I thought my post office collected for Thanksgiving...I was mistaken so I looked online to see if there was a place nearby that adopted food donations and that's how I discovered the food pantry at Village Presbyterian Church. What a remarkable place. They happened to be serving their clients when I dropped off the food. There was a small army of high school students and other volunteers who were working together like...well, like a family. It was remarkable and heartwarming.
I had the privilege of meeting the director of the program who is a remarkable woman and no doubt the reason for the family atmosphere. The work being done there is wonderful. I'm thankful for the wonderful work that I witnessed being done to try and help make sure no one goes hungry in our community. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
