My car was broken into overnight and upon discovering it I called to file a report. An officer was dispatched very quickly. Officer Doug was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable of the neighborhood. I know it its unlikey for this type of common crime to be resolved, but I will say my interaction with Temple Terrace police was a very positive one.

I will start by saying I normally I wish I didn't have interactions with Temple Terrace PD. I used to live in Temple Terrace and I've always felt judged or that the department was insanely rude when I had questions and quite recently I might add, and I always like to see the bright side or good in people.

Well, my car broke down in the middle of the road on Busch Boulevard and it was pouring down rain. In no time, I see the flashing lights and I was like of all places my car could've broken down. Not Temple Terrace. I was greeted by Officer Headley. Who asked what the issue was and I told him it just stalled. Understanding that his main objective is to keep the street safe but he went a step further. Instead of waiting in his vehicle for a tow assist (I've had that before in TT), he assisted me in moving my vehicle over out of harm's way and in the pouring rain mind you. He made sure I was okay and if I needed additional assistance before he left. He truly made my day and allowed me to see a different side of the department. I wish they hire more like him. He was truly pleasant and really nice. I hope the department sees this review and pass it on. Thank you again, Officer Headley.

I had filed a complaint against an officer for questioning me in a rude and unprofessional manner and voiced it via 911 as the number is wrong for non-emergency calls on google. Officer Kyle Smith came by my house and was extremely professional, cool, calm and collected and heard me out through the entirety of my story.

At first, I had HAD IT with the treatment I had received from two officers that were searching the park in my neighborhood after being rudely targeted and spoken to in unreasonably harsh tones. I simply saw them roaming around a black vehicle and asked them if they needed help.

(This is during the 4/3/13 Amber alert where two kids have been kidnapped and suspected in being inside a black vehicle)

One officer claimed they were "just waiting on a tow truck." I said ok and began walking back to my home. I was immediately run down as I casually walked back to my home by one of the officers and treated like a criminal. He demanded to know my address, what I was doing in the area, requested my ID and repeatedly asked me if that was my car in an agressive tone and told me not to get smart with him when I said "Officer, I was just trying to help. I live right there." I felt the need to call in and file a report as this behavior was completely unnecessary.

This is not meant to be a bad review as every organization has its bad seeds. I could have mentioned the officer's name that handled this situation so unprofessionally but antagonism is not my intent.

I had an officer show up and really clear up my discrepancy and am glad to see that the Temple Terrace Police are trained well, personable and are there to help you as citizens of this town, even if it is in regards to a complaint against their fellow staff. Officer Smith handled himself very well and actually thanked me for calling it in and stated that "not enough people call in."

Thank you for taking the time to read this review and hopefully you are reading this because you dealt with an officer like Kyle and are here to explain what a good experience it was.
