A wonderful, warm Reform congregation that's open and welcoming to all. Friday night is a musical Kaballat Shabbat. Saturday is a more traditional Torah service. The Rabbi is intellectually first-rate, setting a theme each week drawn from the parsha that cuts across the weekly services and gives you something to think about of an enduring nature. There's also a very active set of social and charitable activities.
I grew up in Bradenton and was a Bat Mitzvah at Temple Beth El more than 30 years ago. Now that I have moved back to the area, I went to check it out as a place for my family and I to attend and was blown away. We are members (again) and I could not be more thrilled to be a part of this synagogue with a thriving and caring community and amazing Rabbi.
My wife Robin and I have been members of Temple Beth El for seven years. We remember attending our very 1st Shabbat service like it was yesterday! Every congregant came up to us after service to introduce themselves, and welcomed us with open arms. They made us feel like family immediately! The warmth exhibited by everyone has never waned! My reason for sharing this is because Temple Beth El is truly a welcoming community. If you are looking for a very special reform shul in the Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch area, we strongly recommend you check us out.
Temple Beth El is the best. I was looking for a Reform Temple that was small, (not overwhelming) accepting, the members didn’t take themselves too seriously, but still maintained the appropriate reverence why were are there. When i walked in, I could see it was checking all my boxes.
I immediately felt I was home.
Friday night services lots of singing and dancing, and Saturday is more traditional. Either one is great. If you’re looking, definitely worth checking out.
I have been a member of Temple Beth El for several years. Rabbi Tuviah has made such an amazing impact. He is such a great teacher, and services are interactive and fun. I actually look forward to the Friday night service to welcome in the Shabbat. The congregants have a wide variety of Jewish upbringing and experience, yet all are made to feel welcomed and valued. If you are new to the Bradenton area and are looking for a base for your Jewish expression, or you haven’t come to services in the last couple of years, I highly recommend you check us out.
