This preserve is on a back road sort of between subdivisions. There are no signs pointing the way, just a small sign out front. This preserve was somewhat overgrown but several paths were moved and volunteers were working on cleaning up the day I was there. Well marked trails. Some be chest were sagging and overgrown, so a good cleaning and clearing will help. I endorse the 'natural' scape but being able to walk and see is good too. I felt safe and the place was peaceful. Several ponds. Oaks, pines, cypress, palms and cedars. This is a jewel squished between subdivisions and lonely roads. Highly recommended. Also has handicapped access but no restrooms or water/food.

Great park! Had a lovely time. Before you go you should know that there isn't really a parking lot, you have to pull on the side of the road. I would also recommend wearing a hiking shoe and long pants as the trail is a little woods-ier than some of the other preserves in the area. I went a day after a rainstorm and my mesh sneakers got soaked because it's a grass trail rather than gravel.

Saw 2 great horned owls. Mother and baby gators. Lots of different birds.

Very nice time with the family. Trails are about a half mile at most. Very easy to navigate. And alot of areas to sit and take it all in.

For a 30 acre park, there's a surprising number of trails through different Florida ecosystems. Walking through the near tunnels of foliage is both beautiful and serene. I highly recommend this as a 1 hour stop even if, like me, you're not someone who goes out of his way for birding destinations.

Kudos to the folks who maintain this preserve!
