Not only is Dr. Prozek great, but all the staff is as well! I took my chihuahua in with little hope that he would make it and they saved him. He now has to go constantly to them because he needs a treatment and I can not be happier with the way they take care of him. I would completely recommend him to anyone needing a vet cardiologist.

I took my dog, Nemo, to Dr. Prosek feeling discouraged that anything could be done to help my furbaby. Dr. Prosek was so compassionate and knowledgeable! He extended the life of my baby and for that I am eternally greatful!! If you need a cardiologist for your furbaby DO NOT hesitate to contact Dr. Prosek. He and his staff are wonderful!!

I can't say enough about Dr. Prosek. He saved my baby Dori's life. I came to him at a time when my baby was in a very delicate state. I didn't think my baby was going to make it another day. Dr. Prosek was fully booked and his assistant, Brittany, was so nice and helpful. She understood that it was an emergency and made the time to make sure Dr. Prosek could see Dori on a Monday afternoon. I had taken her to other specialists and they were not able to come up with a diagnosis. They did not know why she was having these seizure like episodes which ended up being syncope. I showed him a video I took when Dori was having one those episodes and within seconds he knew exactly what was going on with her even before he did the echo cardiogram. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. He took the time to explain exactly what was happening to my baby's heart on a whiteboard. He wasn't aggressive in his approach on her treatment. He knew exactly what dosage and how to modify it as time went on. He gave me hope and made me feel at ease. I didn't feel like I had to question what he was doing. I knew I could trust him from the moment I met him. He really does have a love for animals and cares about each and every one of his patients. The man works more than any other doctor I know and that says a lot in this day and age. I once received a call from him at 11pm to give me the lab results and he had just left the clinic. He is in high demand so it might be hard to get an appointment with him on such short notice, but he will make it happen if it is an emergency. His team is amazing and so professional and helpful.

I am so happy to say that my baby Dori is still with us a year after her diagnosis and this wouldn't of happened without Dr. Prosek. Dori is doing amazing and actually living a better life now than she was before her heart condition.

If your dog has a heart problem, don't waste your time looking elsewhere.

I am not writing anything here any of the other reviewers have not already written, but Dr. Prosek is one of the most impressive professionals I have seen in any field.

He was the fourth vet we saw in 24 hours recently when our cat Glendon was paralyzed from the waist down with a saddle thrombus, and I cannot say enough positive things about the way he treated us, our cat, and how much better the treatment plan was that he came up with than the vets we saw before.

I don't know whether I was more impressed by his obvious competence in his job, or his ability to calm us down while effectively communicating alot of complicated information to us in an easy to digest format, but I was temporarily so distracted by how impressed I was with his abilities that I stopped worrying so much about our cat.

Because he understands everything he is doing and why, he seems very comfortable sticking with a "standard" treatment plan, or modifying that based on the circumstances. In our case he was able to recommend that we take Glendon home instead of back to the veterinary ER, which has made us happier, our cat happier, and saved us over $4,000. He also avoided putting him on any painkillers even though that is part of the standard treatment, because he believed Glendon was tolerating any pain well, and he thought it was more important for him to be a little mobile while he recovers.

Since then a cat that one vet suggested we may want to euthanize has already started regaining use of his rear legs. Thanks to Dr. Prosek we know that the heart condition that caused his problem is not as bad as we were first led to believe.

The most important thing is that we gave us hope when we needed it. He has a mug in his office from the Apollo program that reads "Failure is not an option." This appears to be his medical philosophy. It is no wonder that we have heard stories of people driving six hours to see him. I could go on a lot longer but anyone reading this gets the picture. Dr. Prosek is the real deal; if your animal has any issues with his or her heart, you owe it to yourself and your pet to go see him. You will not regret it.

Here's a picture of Glendon in healthier times with his brother, a 10 year old min pin who hikes a few hundreds miles a year, and is also under Dr. Prosek's care.
