I had the pleasure of taking wing foiling lessons with Johnathan. While the learning curve for wing foiling is frustratingly steep at times, he was extremely patient and helpful. If you are considering lessons, I highly recommend Johnathan as experienced and a great teacher to get you up to speed quickly! With some background of windsurfing and kiteboarding, I found progression seemed steady despite moments of frustration, but owe much to the instruction. North Beach Windsurfing made renting gear easy and amazingly convenient for sessions between lessons. I highly recommend the shop too!

I took a group lesson with a friend from Richard - he was a great instructor - my friend and I were both sailing on our own halfway through and neither of us had ever tried Windsurfing before. I would definitely recommend North Beach for anyone interested in the sport.

Richard is an outstanding teacher. My son (12) and I had an excellent duo lesson. 1.5-2 hours into the 3 hr lesson, we were able to sail, just as described! Richard was both relaxed, understanding, and also, precise and pedantic. He walked us through all the basic steps and then offered larger sails, more advanced boards, and a harness, as we progressed. The experience was outstanding! I had tried windsurfing several times in other locations but could not succeed. Richard was able to get me through another level and thought my son—a complete beginner—how to windsurf. We’ll be surely back soon!

These guys are the best. So helpful and great to work with. I buy all of my windsurfing gear through North Beach because they are super knowledgeable and have the best prices on the east coast. I have been happy with all of my purchases through them and they are always happy to answer my questions.... Even a year or two after purchase :)
