Anne Hirsch is an amazing midwife who took exceptional care of me while I was pregnant, giving birth and during postpartum check ups. With such kind energy she would arrive at my home for every visit during my pregnancy with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes.

Anne curated a nutritional and herbal plan for me to follow which prevented me from getting pre- eclampsia in which I had during my previous pregnancy. This was extremely important to me and with Anne's guidance I did not develop pre-eclampsia.Yay!!! Also during home visits I was able to get my blood drawn from the comfort of my own living room. Another wonderful aspect of having a midwife.

When I was in labor Anne was there to patiently guide me through every step of the way. She helped me through all the strong waves of discomfort and exhaustion. Offering many ideas and her comforting energy to get through the trying moments. Anne's support of me during this time has proven to be invaluable.

During one particular postpartum visit she set up an amazing herbal vaginal steam bath for me. The effects of the steam were invigorating and left me feeling so fresh and so clean. I am truly indebted to her and can not thank her enough for her constant support and care throughout my entire pregnancy and here after. I would highly recommend Anne Hirsch to any woman who is interested in having a midwife!

We also attended her infant massage class. The massage and song she taught us helped our daughter relax and sleep with great comfort. Today my daughter is 9 months old and when she cries in the car we still sing her the song Anne taught us to sing during the massage class and she immediately stops crying, becomes calm and wants to sleep.

    With great love and respect,
Mary, Iqbal, Jasper and baby Fiona

    P.S. We love you!

I wanted to take a minute to write about my journey during my first pregnancy and experience with Anne Hirsch.

First of all our son was born August 28, 2019. My husband and I transferred to Anne’s care when I was about 30 weeks pregnant.

After calling and talking on the phone with a few provider options we decided Anne felt like the best fit for us. Anne met with us for two hours just to talk about what we were looking for and what she provided. She was open that she only takes on a few clients at a time in order to be able to give 100% to each patient/family. This attitude is one of someone who is only working because of the love they have for what they do and was extremely refreshing.

Anne came to us for appointments which reduced my stress exponentially as appointments were eating up half a day with drive time and waiting to see the doctor. She was flexible as my work schedule is quite demanding and our appointments went as long as needed. I never felt rushed and my husband commented several times how he felt more than just being a third wheel but actually involved in the care and given ways he could help/participate (ie stretches/massage techniques that could help me). Essentially within weeks we felt in control, empowered and relaxed with Anne giving us the psycho education (what to expect during the last month, stages of labor, breastfeeding positions etc) to feel prepared and knowledgeable about our options and the next steps and stages. Anne presented the pros and cons to each decision in a nonjudgmental way.

Not only does Anne have a wealth of knowledge and experience but as said before she connects with you in the way you need over her agenda. She also cared for us as a whole. She took care of our growing child but also made sure physically and emotionally my needs were met. In addition she helped us as a family prepare and helped my husband and I connect on a different level.

Now I am not saying I was not nervous to give birth but I knew I had someone in my corner other than my husband and she would be there for me as a support during the labor as much or little as I needed (while making sure the baby and I were both healthy and safe of course). When the day came she delivered (had to use the play on words) exactly as promised. I labored at home with my husband at my side and moved around and in positions that felt right to me. She was right there when we needed her to guide me into helping my body do what was needed. She handled all curveballs that came with grace and in a way that I did not have any stress over worrying about the health of myself or my child.

After birth, Anne stayed until we were comfortable and made sure there were no hiccups. There was no cleanup to worry about, Anne took care of it all. She came for checkups up until 6 weeks and again this was sooo nice. We did not have to stress about packing him up and I could be in sweats and not have a long car ride when I was recovering and frankly sitting upright was not my favorite activity. She went above and beyond answering all of our first time parent questions and slew of of “is this normal” questions. We were able to communicate with her outside of appointment times when we had breastfeeding issues and with a few tips she made the anxiety reduce and the process more seamless. At the end, her most helpful tip was to listen to your instincts. This was priceless in a world where there is so much information and approaches right at your fingertips that pulls you in so many directions.

In a nutshell- I could not have asked for a more positive experience overall and the ability to deliver and recover in an environment I felt at peace in with no wires or chaos was amazing. Being in control and in the comfort of my house surrounded by my furbabies was just what I needed and Anne was the person who could give us that and the beautiful memories we will hold In our hearts forever.

If our family grows again in the future it will be with Anne.

I am so grateful to Anne for her presence leading up to and during our home birth. We received fantastic care and her wise, quiet, supportive demeanor is exactly what my family needed. Anne was able to help me cope with hyperemesis for the first half of pregnancy and helped relieve typical pregnancy discomforts with Maya massage and yoga exercises. The birth experience was exactly what I had hoped for. She followed my lead but offered advice and support when she could tell I needed it. She called to check in on us often in the days following birth and has given great advice on breastfeeding challenges. I would highly recommend Anne to anyone looking for a wonderful home birth experience.

Anne was my midwife for my first pregnancy. I was completely new to the idea of midwifery, but knowing that my mom had three horrific hospital experiences I was willing to give a different way of birthing a try. Very quickly I realized what a superior level of care I was receiving.
Anne visited my home for my appointments with her medical equipment in tow. She took the time to answer any and all questions.
When it came to labor starting, I called her FAR TOO early in the process... in the middle of the night, on one of the coldest evenings we’ve ever had in Tampa. She arrived and could immediately tell from my demeanor that I wasn’t very far along. Even still, she offered some comforting words and stayed at our home rather than heading back to her own.
The labor was long and challenging, but Anne kept a level head and conveyed calm. When my daughter was born, she required assistance breathing, which Anne expertly provided using the equipment she came prepared with.
Perhaps my favorite thing is the fact that a midwife’s care and connection doesn’t end when the baby is birthed. I felt supported after the birth and have kept in touch with Anne over the years. I am proud she was my midwife and you’ll be proud to have her as yours.

From start to finish Anne was the most amazing midwife! She was there when I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time and she was there to bring my baby into the world. I had a really long hard drug free labor and truly believe that I would not have made it to the end with out Anne. Anne is kind, thoughtful, gentle, extremely knowledgeable, caring, professional and wonderful. I really couldn't recommend her enough. I will never forget the journey of pregnancy and birth with my midwife!
