Geneva Classical Academy

My children are finishing 4th grade and we started the year reading the Hobbit and learning about the barbarians that conquered Rome. And now as we end the year with the Dubbing ceremony, I think back to all the material that they have covered from science fair to Roman Day to singapore math as well as the vocabulary that I often had to look up, I am amazed at the transition they have made from little kids into mature young adolescents that are ready to take on the challenge of 5th grade both scholastically and spiritually.

What is a Geneva education? You need to experience the classical Christian model first hand to really understand it. I encourage parents who are investigating educational options for their family to tour the school and see what all the talk is about.

We started our son in Kindergarten at Geneva three years ago and we have loved every minute of it! Our daughter joined the Kindergarten class this year. Every day brings a new discovery, a new reason to love learning, a new Biblical understanding. The classical model is the logical way to educate children. It allows children the opportunity to learn for themselves and it prepares them for a lifetime of learning. Our children are excited to go to school every day because they know that their teachers care about their educations and because they know that each day holds a new adventure.

By far the best education option in Polk County and the surrounding area. Our sons are excelling here as they learn to connect areas of study to each other. Scientific discoveries in the middle ages were not conducted in a vacuum but reflected the philosophies and faith practices of the time, for example. They are taught to know what they believe is true and why it is true. The Christian worldview permeates everything at Geneva. The teachers love the children and cherish each one of them. We are very blessed to have Geneva!

I never would have thought that I would have 2 middle-school aged children that count down the days of summer vacation so that they can be back to the classroom, but that is what has happened at Geneva. My children love school and have developed a love of learning through the personal relationships they have developed with each of their teachers. The staff and all of the families at the school genuinely feel like a part of a "community". All of the classes are taught from a Christian worldview by weaving scripture into every subject. We truly are "partnering" with the staff at the school to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Geneva complements what our children learn at home and at church so that they can be confident defenders of their faith. The Classical Model (or "trivium") takes full advantage of the developmental stages of the student's minds and provide our children with the tools they'll need to be successful in any walk of life (knowledge, understanding, and wisdom). There is simply not enough space here to proclaim all the benefits of a Geneva education. You simply need to go and see for yourself.
