Marietta Museum of Art & Whimsy

I visited this museum in 2017 and loved it! On a ‘whim’ I just wanted to check the website to see if it is still open. Happily it is! Covid has made the interior off limits, for now, but well worth the visit! I may never get back to Sarasota, but if I do, I will certainly visit again! Thank you !

Colorful, playful & unique. Great volunteer docents. Not expensive (donation entry) and things change up so its never boring. One of my fave places!!

A fun and magical place. Definitely well worth the $5 suggested donation fee. A great time killer and something to do that’s in town and different. I gave it 4 stars due to the camera policy. I little ridiculous and doesn’t make much sense…

We arrived too early, the museum doesn’t open until 1pm. We left and returned too late, they closed around 4pm. Short hours. The art that we did see on the outside was amazing. I have a creative mind but my creativity is “stick figures” compared to the art on display here. It’s amazing to see creations made of rocks, horse shoes, tires, old bolts and screws. I loved it without seeing everything the museum had to offer.

Well worth the suggested $5 donation, lots of fun pieces, beautiful gardens.Run by the owner ( whom you may actually run into) and a bunch of volunteers. Kids as well as adults should enjoy an hour or so visit. I was impressed in how serene it was. No cafeteria or commercialism.
