I am a former employee (CNA/Med Tech), I am now a Physical Therapist Assistant working toward a Medical Doctorate. I can without a doubt say that Mission Oaks is one of the best ALF and Memory care facilities in the area. There is so much love given between the patients and the staff. It feels legitimately like a huge family. I sincerely thank them for every opportunity given, and as a medical professional I highly recommend Mission Oaks!
My mother in law was in this facility until she turned 95 and passed away. Her care there was above and beyond. During her process of passing, they were so caring to us. We can't "thank you" enough and greatly appreciated them.
This facility has the best food. Some ALFs have a choice of 2 or 3 meals and consider that restaurant dining. This facility has 40-50 meals to pick from. They are also the most affordable for day respite. The facility had a perfect bill of health from the annual survey from the Agency for Health Care Administration - 2018.
I would recommend this facility - but do not take my word for it speak to the family members that have family there.
This facility has the most loving staff in area. The staff turnover is low. The person in charge has been their for 4 to 5 years. I read the survey book in the front and they have zero citations from the state of FL in the last survey. I also read their wall of fame where they have family after family that says wonderful things about the facility. I'm scratching my head of why some people would write such horrible things about this wonderful building. Former employees? I would only assume. Go to the building meet the people - talk to the families that are currently their and read the fame board. Look at the survey book in the front and you will understand why this facility is truly 5 stars.
My parents moved from northern Wisconsin to Mission Oaks Assisted Living about 18 months ago. My husband and I looked at many facilities, but when we walked into Mission Oaks we both looked at each other and said "this is it". The atmosphere was homey, and the many staff and residents we met were so friendly and welcoming. The best thing was that everyone seemed happy! My parents and our family were made to feel such a part of their family. Staff are so caring, and very quick to respond to questions or concerns. When my dad became very ill Mission Oaks and Cornerstone Hospice worked together to make his last months as comfortable as possible, and his face lit up with a smile when any of the staff came into his room. After his passing I thought it might be difficult for mom to remain there with all the memories, but as she says "this is my home, these are my friends, and this is where I am staying". She loves the many activities and socializing with her neighbors. We love that she is close by, as independent as possible, and most of all so happy!
