UF Health The Villages Hospital Freestanding ER

We have been to the ER several times; it is the most efficient medical facility ever with extremely professional staff. Mary in reception is great, she quickly gets you through check in and then Tony gets you settled in a room with a smile and makes you feel comfortable.

Nurse Heather is very compassionate and gets you through your initial assessment, IV etc. with ease and a friendly smile.

Doctor Christine is amazing; she clearly explains the assessment of your condition and really puts you at ease.

I used this Brownwood ER and have to say I’m very impressed. I’m a nurse so I understand the job and for the most part what they should do. They exceeded my expectations. I went in very nervous and hurting and they completely allayed my concerns through the best care and testing. I was super impressed with the team of Dr Val and Nurse Derek. I was made to feel important, respected and was very well taken care of. Like many of us, I’ve heard to avoid care in The Villages ER’s. That is absolutely NOT the case here. I was concerned on what they could handle being a stand alone. Again, I had the wrong impression. They have advanced capabilities for cardiac and abdominal work ups. I felt I had a VERY capable doctor who listened, sat at my level and took the time to do a good history and evaluation. There was also a very kind volunteer that came by and asked if I needed anything. Han from radiology was gentle and caring.
From the front desk until I left it was a professional team of caregivers that took care of me. I highly recommended you put your trust in this Brownwood ER team.

The facility is beautiful and the staff, from the front desk to the nurses, they were all wonderful. The doctor Dr. Stricklen was very nice and listened to the concerns I had about my daughter's illness. She listened to me and was eager to answer my questions and make sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan. The nurse practitioner Amanda was wonderful as well as my paramedic Bruce was exceptional. I will return whenever I have a medical emergency.

Great ER. Nurses are great very friendly. Derek the triage nurse was very cheerful and attentive to our concerns. Heather was our nurse very nice. Jay I believe the charge nurse checked on us as well. Dr. Stricklen was very pleasant spoke to us with compassion. Great overall ER would suggest to everyone.

I had to go to the ER Friday night September 1, 2023. The front desk intake person named Mary was amazing. She saw that I was in distress. and made sure I was taken directly back.

From there it only got better. I was seen initially by Emily the nurse on call who was incredible, very kind and gentle with the procedure she had to do which I was very much dreading. She was knowledgeable and personable and got me through it extremely well she is a true professional.

The nurse practitioner on call named Kevin was similarly caring and kind and most important, knowledgeable about my situation and prognosis. Through it all he was professional, and I would highly recommend if you have an emergency that you go to this ER, knowing that you will receive immediate care with people who care and who know what they’re doing❣️
