I had to write something to bring attention to this amazing school and staff. I attended the first annual Children Around the World Parade yesterday and was completely blown away at the job that was done.It was so very well done and so amazing I have told everyone about it that I work with. The staff did an excellent job with the kids and the music teacher is amazing. I just had to give kudos toward the entire production and tell all the staff they deserve to take a bow awesome job.
My son is in 3rd grade. His teacher Mrs.Kennedy is amazing. He's already had quite a few disciplinary problems. He's extremely intelligent, but lazy. After 3 years of Palm Terrace,made him hate school. She knows my medical situation,, but together were breaking those chains. Together we show and talk to him ,letting him know regardless of any situation he isn't going to get a free pass. He still has consequences. She's patient, kind,yet stern when necessary. She spends time with him even when bad, because she knows he's more than capable of acing and surpassing the work. She believes in my son. His last teacher at Palm Terrace would put him down all the time. He got great marks for behavior and still she met everyf at patent pickup. My son would proudly show his great behavior and true to form, She would say yes,well it was so hard but I let him have it anyway. Shed mark projects wrong thinking we wouldn't notice. Told us he was failing certain subjects only to see A's on report card two days later. The worst was Palm Terrace's nurse. She made him wear girls ponytail holder saying he's a boy & needs a haircut. He was growing it for Locks of Love. At the end of the school year she gave him a Bible asking him if he was saved. The best thing that could have happened did. Horizon Elementary. I hate my sons behavior, and hope he doesn't take it for granted. Then to see his teacher and school have gone over and beyond to help my myself, fiamce, close family. They want him to strive to reach & be proud of himself for reaching and put his best foot forward towards his full potential;just as much as we do. Thank you Horizon Elementary and especially Mrs.Kennedy. Now to see how to help her get teacher of the year. She definitely deserves it. I have to stop now befory slightly rating eyes turns into a squall.
