It was a slow day because of a festival going on in Folkston and the fair was in town. Nice gift shop

Not much in the visitor center except some information on the swamp most of which we heard on the boat tour. We were really disappointed that the Chesser Island house was closed on a Saturday mid-afternoon.

One of the best visitor's centers we've ever been too. Lots of hands-on exhibits and information. Plus a good informational movie and an animatronic story teller. The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable as well.

Good place to get info on the Okefenokee and the wildlife that abounds there. Bought souvenirs. Spotted 2 large alligators sunbathing just across the small waterway that the center backs to. Love alligators! Rocking chairs available to relax in on the covered wood deck.

This is a great place to visit while in the Swamp. The people are very helpful here, and a funny moment was when I met the lass whom I had spoken to on the phone one day earlier. The visitor’s centre includes a gift shop, a theatre with a fantastic informational video, an animatronic bloke who annoys the workers but gives good information, and many other educational and instructive items. One may become a junior ranger here, fill their water bottle, or interact with other park goers or volunteers/NWR employees. Would recommend a stop for sure.
