My husband has been collecting pens over $100 for about 10 years. This is the first time I'd hear of Pitchman Pens. I found Pitchman from a Google search. I ordered the Closer Red Abalone Shell Rollerball Pen handcrafted with 22 Kt Gold & Rhodium and I'm so glad I did! Not only is this pen beautiful to behold, its heavy weight speaks of the quality materials used to make it. Since my husband is a collector being able to choose from a variety of colors was also very helpful to balance out the collection. I've purchased pens at higher cost with lower quality and lower satisfaction. The cost is worth every penny! Wow what a great pen! This pen writes smoother then any other pen I have ever tried! I get more great commits about it when I let other people use it. I do have to keep a eye on it because others have tried taking it. This pen just feels so good in your hand makes you wish we wrote more letters then using email! Thanks Pitchman. I purchased the "Closer" from Pitchman Pens a couple months ago and felt that it was best to hold off on my review until I had used it for a while.
First off, the look and design … the pen is gorgeous. The abalone shell on the barrel and cap are beautiful. The organic designs in the shell along with the symmetric gold inlays, offer a unique balance of natural and structured design elements. I find myself staring at this pen from time to time, as it is truly a piece of art.
As far as the form and function, it is a large weighty pen. The pen is balanced well when in use and the cartridge lays down a smooth flow of ink every time.
If you are in the market and position to purchase one of these writing instruments, I would highly recommend Pitchman Pens.
