I’ve been coming here since a little over a year and there was very rude office staff that wasn’t too welcoming! Since they replaced the old office staff with Tessa & Josh, this place is alive!! They know how to treat guests, their knowledge in the area, gives them great skills to guide every guests on directions, locals restaurants, local shopping, you name it! You can tell they really care about this place and specially the guests! They always have a welcoming smile and make you feel at home away from home! I don’t see myself coming in here without them! On this days is hard to find a campground with such a great service and such a great staff! The only one from old school still here is the maintenance guy, he won’t smile & he seems to be upset at all the times 😞The place is beautiful & peaceful and I love seeing the deers coming some morning! I will include pictures next time they come! I don’t know about the bathroom because I’ve never needed to use it. The views of the lake are amazing!!! Love this place!!❤️
I have to start off by saying I typically never leave a review on Google, good or bad, but Shoal Creek Campground truly deserves this one. This is by far the best campground my family and I have ever stayed at. The place is very clean and organized. When we arrived, the site was perfect. The leaves were all blown away, the site was level and the wildlife was plentiful. The bathrooms were also heated and very well maintained. We do not typically feel comfortable showering in public locations due to cleanliness. At SHOAL CREEK, everyone of us used the shower numerous times. Their rates are extremely fair and the staff treats you like family. I had a business package delivered to the campsite front office while I was at work while staying on site. The front office closes at five pm and I don't get off of work until that time or later everyday. The package was extremely important because I had to get something time sensitive done for work that evening. Melissa, an employee of Shoal Creek, stayed late after work, waited on me at the gate, and greeted me with a smile. She made sure I got my package. She hand delivered it to me. She went above and beyond to make sure I got my work taken care of. There are still really GOOD people in this world and she is one of them. I would highly recommend staying at this campground. My family and I love this place!!
Shoal Creek Campground is our favorite! We love the primitive sites. Beautiful views of the lake, the trees and wildlife. Keep an eye out for deer, they're everywhere and it's wonderful! This is a great spot to "get away" with accessibility to a gas station within miles. Bath houses are available with hot water and showers, and cleaned daily.
This campground is absolutely amazing! Every site has gorgeous views of the lake and it’s very quiet, peaceful and feels very safe. Restrooms are clean and took care of almost daily and they located pretty close, so you can easily walk to them. People on reception are very nice, helpful, and friendly. Just the whole setup of campground is absolutely gorgeous!
I’d recommend this fantastic campground to everyone! This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen!!
I have no idea how anyone could give this place a bad rating. My wife and I went camping here for two nights over the weekend and had a wonderful time. This campground is GORGEOUS. Nearly every site has a view of the lake. We went in early November and the autumn colors were magical.
We had a tent site. Each site has a fire ring and aluminum picnic table. And a tall pole... not sure what that's for but we put a lantern on ours for light. Check in was easy and there's a gate at the entrance, which I liked. We felt safe the entire time. There were other campers, but a lot of empty sites too, which is expected this time of year. It was nice and quiet most of the time.
We did have an issue with some obnoxiously loud people at 1am but honestly, I've gone camping all my life and there's ALWAYS one group of obnoxious people at 1 am anywhere you go. I think someone called security, because we heard yelling and then it was quiet right after.
Bathrooms and showers were clean, and smelt like bleach. Everything was in working order. Yes facilities look old but you are camping. This ain't the Ritz. If you want brand new gold toilets, stay at a hotel. All in all one of the most lovely campground I've been at. And I've been at a lot. Here's some pictures to show you how pretty this place is!
