Jetty Betty Surf School

I reserved two private lessons and had perhaps the best surf experience of my life on the North Shore. They were so prompt with responses and answers and any changes based on finding the best surf possible. The instruction exceeded my expectations and had me catching wave after wave by my second lesson! And they coach from novice (me) up to expert. Highly Highly recommend - it’s so worth it!

Easy last minute/same day accommodations via phone. My teen daughter and I met Mikey at the beach. Rash guard shirts and boards provided. Started on the beach with some lessons on technique and safety. Mikey is also a certified lifeguard so that gave me added piece of mind. We were in a group of 3 and he had us rotating through like clockwork catching wave after wave. We were both beginners, but we we're riding waves in no time. "Stand tall, fall. Stay low, GO!" If you're a beginner and want to learn to surf, this is the way to go.

I booked a two hour lesson over the phone with Vanessa. The next day, I met Mikey, her husband, who was on prompt and on time. Mikey was extremely friendly and we hit it off right away. I was the only one who signed up for the day, so it was like a private lesson. We walked down to the beach with the boards. We spent about five minutes on the beach going over a few basics, then we were in the water. I was standing up on my second wave, it was incredible! Mikey is an excellent instructor, very encouraging, and makes sure you have a good time. We stayed out the full two hours, and I was wiped. I can see why some people would end their lesson early, it is fairly tiring. I would recommend this experience to anyone, especially first timers!

We had an awesome time! Great instructor (Vanessa I think) who knows how to navigate the water and help beginners enjoy surfing and not getting smacked into by other beginners. Really great time and great value. We swam next to some sea turtles, which was a cool bonus.
