  Spectacular! One of my favorite courses I've ever played. Quail Hollow is beautiful and so much fun to play. So many holes ask you to decide between driver or iron on this fun layout with some great doglegs, water hazards to carry, or just a narrowing fairway. It is not like so many others where you pull driver on almost every par 4 and 5, though you mostly can if you are hitting the driver accurately enough. Quail Hollow has some good elevation changes so I wouldn't recommend walking this one. My favorite holes include #'s 1 ,2, 3, 5, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, and 18. A must play if you are in the area. I can't wait to play it again.

  This is a tactical course in the rolling foothills of Boise, ID. It is not for the beginner golfer. The beauty of this course is beyond words! There are spectacular vistas and challenging hills and holes! It is a Boise "must play" for a golfer!

  Stunning, beautiful course tucked into the foothills. One of the most challenging in the Boise area, not just because of the elevation changes that come with being in the hills (unlike most other courses around that are mostly flat), but because of how many holes bend around water and how many large bunkers there are. Not only are you constantly trying to gauge distance as you're climbing or dropping elevation on most holes, you have to be very strategic about which corners to try to cut and when to lay up. Overall a great course though, the clubhouse is nice and the service is good. It is a little pricey (over $50 for a round with a cart), but you get what you pay for; this course is significantly more interesting and fun than most others in the area.

  Bizarre layout. Lots of undulation and very tight fairways. Found it to be very unforgiving as a first time player here that didn't know the course at all. There are a number of tee shots or approach shots where you can't see the landing zone at all. Don't know if there were yardage books in the clubhouse, but if there are you will need one if you are unfamiliar with the course. Conditions were pretty good, aside from the greens which appear to receive very little love from players. Some were horribly cratered with poorly (if at all) fixed ball marks. Bunkers were pretty inconsistent. No beverage cart at all which was super lame. At least there were full water coolers every 4 holes or so. I'd play again to see if I enjoy it more now that I have a feel for it, but it's not one of my favorite courses in the region.

This 18-hole par 70 layout is 6,325 yards from the back tees and has a course rating of 70.7 and a slope rating of 129. The course was first opened in 1982 under the name "Shamana" and was designed by Bruce Devlin/Robert von Hagge.
