My TMJ issues were life changing. In the two years that I sought treatment prior to going to Dr. Powell and obtaining one of her specialty MicrO2 night guards, I was having to put my meals through a blender. My mandible had resorbed on one side enough that I could no longer talk without my teeth crashing together on that side, and my teeth would not touch at all on the other side. It had affected my ability to speak and to be understood. There were no surgical options for me that were likely to work. I felt depressed.

Dr Powell fitted me with a night guard device that was much more comfortable than the ones I had tried previously. More importantly, it provided support sufficient to allow my jaw to become stable and to gain strength. It did not happen overnight, but within 6 months I was eating normally enough to be able to enjoy a meal with friends again. By a year, I was able to eat salads again (one of my favorite foods).

At Dr Powell’s office you will find a close working team of two people. While you are there, you have their undivided attention. They listen carefully for even the slightest nuances of your personal TMJ issues and experience. You will not find cookie cutter treatments here. You will find a wealth of knowledge and resources and options to support you through the process of stabilizing your TMJ issues and fostering recovery.

Since each patient gets the same focus and dedication, it may be necessary to leave a phone message or do some communication through tech means. From my experience it is worth it. I feel like the treatment I received gave me much of my life back. It is much more important to me to have gotten good results than to have worked with a larger office where the phone never goes unanswered.

I would recommend Dr Powell and the MicrO2 devices that she custom designs.

After fighting for years with my Cpap machine I was able to get into see Dr Powell and Susanna for the most incredible learning sessions. They performed state of the art testing around the musculature of my jaw and airway and with the mouth guard they fitted me with I am sleeping better than ever. They really take their time to understand what is happening with the jaw, muscles, airway and teeth that contribute to sleep apnea. The exams and testing were painless and precise. The explanation of what the device does and how it helps me were thorough but explained in a way that was easy to understand. My sleep apnea is much improved and even better..my headaches and teeth clenching have been almost entirely eliminated.

These Ladies are intuitive! They listen well and the treatments and tests are top notch. My experience was relaxed. Pleasant. Understanding. And very timely. My new mouth day guard is so perfect and I haven't had the severe headaches or head pain that I had before. Thank you

I cannot say enough good words about Pamela Powell and her assistant Susanna Norris. I have had teeth / jaw / head pain for over two weeks with visits to my normal doctor and to Primary Health. We thought that I was having TMJ issues so sought out an expert. Pamela diagnosed a cracked tooth and dying root as my issue. Not looking forward to a root canal, but thankfully now know what is going on.
