John has always been very responsive and helpful through several situations including accidents (both those in which I was at fault and those in which I was not.) He takes time to explain things in a way that I can understand.
I wanted to share how professionally my insurance agent and his company handled my claim.
I changed to John O'Brien and American Family maybe 5 months ago for home and auto coverage.
John was great, rates were very good, it was a smooth, easy transition. John and his staff when out of their way to make sure I had complete information about my coverage options and costs.
I recently bought a car at auction out of state. It was for my daughter and driving back from Wisconsin, the car died and I needed a tow back to my mechanic in Chicago.
In the event you have an incident immediately after buying a car, most insurance companies will cover YOUR car - But it wasn't yet legally mine.
It was not in my name since I intended to give it to my daughter.
The company pointed this out to me when I submitted my claim for the tow and told me unfortunately they would probably deny the claim.
John learned of this (from the company, not me) and in 2 days, I received a full reimbursement for the tow. They understood !
But the second pleasant surprize happened when I called the company to tell them I lost the check and asked them to cancel the first and resend me another. American Family DIDN"T say "we must wait 14 days to make sure the check was not cashed. They simply said, no problem and I had the replacement check 2 days later. They are 'stand up' guys.
So glad I made the change.
