St Stephen's Lutheran Church

I visit from time to time, I have my own church but I love to visit this church. Pastor Henry Raven and first Lady always greet me with a smile. His son Christopher Raven is an awesome speaker and Minister.. Go by and check them out you will be glad you did

I found St Stephen's Lutheran Church, after running Ditch the Weight & Guns" Englewood 5K Walk & Run, which took place at Ogden Park, not too far from the church. As one that has been to church a few times in the past wearing running clothes, I was not ashamed attending in my running clothes after running the race. Not to mention I was sweaty, too!

I was used as an example in a good way by the Pastor in comparison of those that choose to make excuses not to come to church, because there I was attending Sunday worship after running a local 5k.

I felt young in this church! And I'm only in my thirties! Most certainly was the only millennial in attendance, but that did not hinder me from enjoying it. Like many other African American churches, St Stephen's Lutheran Church is an fashioned church, and fitting to the neighborhood it serves. The message from the Pastor reflected what the neighborhood encounters every day, which empowers those in attendance who live in the mix of it.

I would most certainly attend St Stephen's Lutheran Church again, but my return would be similar to this initial visit due to me living on a different side of town.
