An incredible experience. Loved visiting a place that offered so much unique history to any other museum I've been too. So interesting to learn about the history of the Pacific Northwest, Native American culture, as well as the Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Of course the mummies and the dinosaurs were a huge hit with us! Tickets are pricey so plan to make a full day of it to make the most of the experience!
It is it is a great museum with an old-time feel and vibe. if you're interested in Egypt in Egyptian mummies this is the place to be. Also the cultures of Africa the Americas and the Pacific Islands is very interesting. make sure you see the man-eating lions and read the history of how the museum acquired them.
The quality of the exhibits here are very good! They do have a lot of exhibits but most of them didn't really interest me. We did absolutely love the Egypt exhibit, the dinosaurs, and the traveling mummy exhibit. The 3D show "Museum Alive" was cute and very well made. The bathrooms were immaculately clean. What made me rate only three stars was how extremely expensive everything in the museum was and how quickly we got through the entire museum.
We went to Chicago on an impromptu vacation and were looking for different attractions. The Field Museum was a fantastic choice. We had a really great time. There is so much to do and see. We could have spent almost a whole day there. With exhibits rotating often, there is always something new to see. Absolutely need to visit again.
Very educational experience with kids. They really enjoyed the time they spent at the museum. It took us all day to explore the whole museum. Awesome virtual Ride. Kinda expensive food with okay taste. Make sure come early in the morning to enjoy and learn about lot of things, past to present. I will recommend as a family trip to consider when you are in the city. Worth spending time together with family and friends. Good luck.
