We often talk about our son's substance abuse and treatment at FAIR as being the "best worst thing" in our lives. We were fortunate enough to find FAIR his junior year of high school at which time we were dealing with substance abuse and anxiety issues. This is definitely a program for your entire family, not just your adolescent or young adult. We all learned so many things that we have continued to carry with us even since our son graduated over five years ago (and has been sober over five years!) and we continue to attend as volunteers. There are several things that set FAIR apart from other treatment facilities--having the entire family involved, the peer group and encouragement to be around the peers at FAIR, and the continued support of FAIR graduates who return as volunteers and mentors for the current patients. You not only get individual and family counseling sessions, but you get the great benefit of group therapy. When we attended, FAIR was considered out-of-network with our insurance company. Do not let that deter you.....they also have a foundation available that you can apply to for assistance. Whether your adolescent or young adult is struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues, you will feel at home and in the right place when you start treatment at FAIR.

This program not only saved my child, but my family as well. We struggled for several years with our child's' self-destructive behavior and addiction through many therapists, hospital programs and more. Nothing was working and no programs were showing any progress what so ever. In face all other programs left us in a worse position. We felt there was no hope. This program helps treat the full family through one of the most difficult and scary times in their child life. No other program provided what FAIR has for my family and my child. No words can express the amazing and positive impact this program has brought to us.

This is my first review. And I'm proud to write it. This is an amazing program. We had been to many, many other programs in the area and none are like FAIR. They do not take your money, sit your kid in a chair and lecture them. This program is about real, deep, change. How do they do that? We are a community, a family. Parents, volunteers, patients, counselors all work together to help your child or young adult. And they don't give up. The family is involved in the treatment and this is the key difference between FAIR and other programs. I have been to other programs (Alexian) that say the family is involved, but it is only lip service. Here at FAIR you notice the difference from day one. Parents are part of the treatment and there is real accountability and progress on the patient's part. One of the key differences in this program is their peer groups. Peer groups are mixed with new patients and volunteers who graduated FAIR and come back to help out. Peers are powerful in recovery and FAIR is so loved that graduates come back to help. Schedule a visit. You will not be disappointed.

This program saved my life. I was admitted as a 17 year old with addictions to multiple substances, depression, anxiety, emotional trauma, and serious familial issues. Initially I dreaded participating in this program as most young kids typically do; I didn't like it at first because it required me to change, which can be uncomfortable for anyone. However, today I stand behind this program 100%. The counselors somehow always knew exactly what to say and how to help me deal with my issues healthily...Today my relationships, emotional stability, habits, and hobbies have taken a 180-degree turn for the better. Life is nice when you've actually achieved stability, happiness, and professional goals, and I can only attribute the achievement of these things to the FAIR program.
