Excel Preschool provides a wide variety of positive child developmental learning activities. Mrs. Karen provides an organized and structured balance of learning opportunities as well as social development. The environment is a very warm and friendly home-school setting, which as a parent, allows me to feel safe and comfortable sending my child. Mrs. Karen also follows the public school schedule which is very helpful when you have more than one child! Absolutely LOVE this preschool!
My son currently goes to Excel Preschool, and he LOVES it. The school and teachers are amazing. My son was academically a little more behind than his peers, and Mrs. Karen worked with us to help him get to where he needed to be and even offered us suggestions on how we at home could help him. The teachers communicate so well with parents; they talk to you about any issues or suggestions right away, and don’t wait until conferences to discuss any concerns. I find this school is more loving, open, and provides more quality time of teacher to child than any other school we have experienced with our children. The curriculum they provide follows the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, and also provides fun and educational enhancements such as Engineering for Kids, field trips, holiday parties and activities. They also taught the students about social awareness and participated in "Pennies for Pets" where they raised money to help several local animal shelters. Choosing Excel Preschool was an excellent decision for my son, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a Preschool/Pre-K school to look at Excel Preschool for their children.
Choosing Excel Preschool was an excellent decision for our 4 year old daughter. The teachers take a personal interest in helping the children develop appropriately in all aspects, not just academics. They are always willing and available to discuss special arrangements or monitor problematic behavior. Parents are welcome to participate in class as volunteers and encouraged to attend special outings.
- Age Range: I was initially hesitant about combining 3 and 4 year olds in the same classroom, but the combination of age groups has not been a problem. Our daughter is doing more advanced work this year than in her 3-year-old program last year.
- Curriculum: Curriculum follows standard requirements but also offers enhancements such as STEM projects, character counts and special holiday activities.
- Pricing: Pricing was comparable to other area preschool programs, especially given the extra academic time and clean/spacious environment of Excel Preschool.
