(May 31, 2018, 12:08 pm)I would like to comment on the beautiful Fine Rug Gallery of Barrington. I purchased a most exquisite dining room carpet from the Gallery. It is a Persian Kerman circa 1940’s. The cream and blue colors create such a serene, warm feeling. In addition, I purchased a bedroom carpet similar in colors and design. I am so pleased! The Gallery itself is magnificent. It is a step back into time and MUST be visited. The proprietor of the Gallery is such a gentle soul who lovingly explains the history of each piece, the city or village where it is made and how it is woven. When you come upon the Gallery in the Ice House, you see the windows and the interior where the rugs are displayed. They simply take your breath away.

(May 23, 2018, 5:22 pm)It has been a pleasure doing business with Mustafa Beik, owner of Barrington Fine Rug Gallery. I had numerous Persian rugs from an estate that I wanted to get appraised for insurance purposes. Mustafa provided an excellent write up of each rug with all the pertinent details. Along with that he shared some of his enthusiasm and his wealth of knowledge about rugs. Besides providing services related to appraisals and cleaning of rugs, he has an extensive collection of beautiful rugs. They are indeed works of art. I will certainly go back to him for any and all of my rug needs.

(May 23, 2018, 12:12 pm)I visited the the Barrington Fine Rug Gallery and learned it has an incredible collection of fine rugs. The collection contains a variety of styles from all over the world. The collection was amassed by owner/operator Mostafa Beik and several generations of family members preceding Mostafa. The collection contains many pieces that are well over 100 years old. Mostafa provides a knowledge and expertise of not just fine rugs in general but also the "story" behind each piece in his collection. His expertise is invaluable in assessing the right fit for purchasing such a fine item for one's home.

The cleaning is very reasonable and they took great care in ensuring our rugs were properly cared for. The gallery has an exceptional selection of rugs, and the owner is a delight to talk with. We will no doubt look here first the next time we are looking to purchase a new rug for our home. A great local shop!
