I'm pretty sure the curator was Mrs. Dunham. They are identical, it was an awesome experience and definitely worth advertising about. If you are clairvoyant or any spiritual gifts be advised....you know what to do.
A spectacular and elegant building filled with tons of Mrs. Dumham's personal collections a well as her legacy. Will visit again. Recommend to call ahead of time to confirm it's open hours.
As a child, I learned about Katherine and was filled with joy the first time I visited this museum. I try to visit every year as this place brings back so many memories of my dance career.
Historic! I met Katherine Dunham on several occasions. She was filled with joy, knowledge and blessed by her gifts the creator instilled in her. She traveled much not to mention came home and made a huge impact on her community. My first time visiting the INSIDE of her museum I was amazed (Wish I took pictures). While I was there we honored the late Charmaine Savage, who also was a pillar of the community. 2 for the price of one.
The museum is beautiful and the dancers are amazing! I love coming down here especially during their summer arts program I've learned and experienced so much over the years from them!
