Both of my daughters have been taking karate from Shihan Patrick at Power Karate for over a year. They love learning and testing for their belts. Both girls have become more confident and stronger, physically and mentally. I see their growth in their relationships with friends, with each other, and in the other sports they play. I’m excited to send my son there when he’s old enough!
This company has been a godsend to our condo association. They're pros at the carpentry, BUT they're the pros in the WAY they do business. Everything about this company is a well oiled machine. It was a pleasure! I highly recommend them and you can rest easy that the work will done promptly, correctly, and at a fair price.
My 10 year old son has been practicing karate at this dojo for about 2 years now and absolutely loves it. Not only do you learn self defense skills, you also learn important life skills. After hearing such good feedback from our son, we eventually decided to joined as well!
What we like most is the environment. Shihan Patrick is a great teacher, and is very dedicated in the constant improvement of his students. This is also true with all the black belts who help with instructing. Everyone is kind and makes learning karate, which can be challenging, fun. When you come to the dojo you feel like you are part of the family!
Great to work with. Their prices were very reasonable. They did great work and they did it fast. They didn't mess around. They got to work, did the job right, and cleaned up. I would highly recommend them for any work around your home.
If you have ever practiced traditional martial arts then you will know the difficulty of finding a good school. This is a good school. Shihan Patrick Fard has the background necessary to teach to an exceptionally high level of aptitude, if the student is willing. The other black belts are also quite skilled and help provide sufficient bandwidth that none seem to be overtaxed. I have found the teaching to be very satisfactory (although the topic is, as is to be expected, challenging).
On the whole, I would say that the environment is demanding but patient, and those who apply themselves will reap good rewards. I have been going for around 9 months at this point and I have yet to regret a single day.
If this is going to be your sole athletic outlet I highly recommend attending CrossFit sessions (onsite) to help supplement your strength and conditioning. It will definitely improve what you are able to get out of Karate.
It’s absolutely inspirational and will advance anyone to their personal best and more! I have seen many students transformed that sticks with the MBK program including my kids and myself .
