late for breakfast, but they still had cinnamon rolls and they were good. Very different from the way folks in our family do them, but super good nonetheless - and the frosting tops it all off really well.
After the morning train ride, we enjoyed the coffee very much, it really hit the spot. So, we split cinnamon rolls, had coffee, oh and hot chocolate too, and, BLT's all around with a fried egg on 'em. Yeah. That was good.
Some people told us the stuffed pepper soup was supposed to be really great, but, I went with mushroom soup and enjoyed that very much.
Atmosphere was cute and quaint. So. All thumbs up. As soon as you get off the train there it is. I see no reason to try anywhere else. We are all from small towns too and know tasty hometown food when we find it. -

Mom and I had a great time in Metamora. We came in from Muncie, Indiana. We ate lunch here, then breakfast the next day. The coffee cake was fabulous! Loved their homemade French dressing and mom raved about their homemade blue cheese dressing. The bread on the BLT was so good. Cute little gift shop, too. Polite and good server. Prices are amazingly cheap! -

(June 3, 2022, 9:54 pm)This little spot is a must try. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and enjoy a real home made meal in a beautiful area. There’s even has a bed and breakfast upstairs so that you can stay and enjoy the quaintness of the town. It doesn’t hurt that the desserts are ALL my favorites. Strawberry Rhubarb pie and blackberry cobbler are the best but so is absolutely everything else. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. This would be an amazing weekend getaway!
