Great place for a quick trail walk with the girls!
Nice short trail with a couple of hills. It takes about 30 minutes to the loop. You get a nice scenic look over the river before going down a hill.
One of my favorite places to hike around Huntington. Wear good hiking boots. There are some steep hills to navigate through but you'll love it!! Look for the Bald Eagles!!
If you don't want a narrow path I.e. no more than 6 in. on either side, and are afraid of spiders and spider webs this is not for you. However if you like a good hike it can be done in a short amount of time 15 minutes, and it will get your heart rate up (you're burning minimum of a hundred calories depending on your pace)!
We visited on a nice winter day. I'm glad I didn't take my 2 year old, as the trail down to the river side is quite steep and not level. My 4 year old and his 7 year old friend had no problems. The hike around the property was worth it. I think winter is a particularly good time to visit, as visibility is good.
