Comfort Suites Merrillville near US 30

Great experience, check in was smooth and easy, front desk friendly. Our room #229 was terrific, a very spacious room, with a king bed, queen bed and a sofa bed. Beds were comfortable and clean, nice pillows. Refrigerator and microwave, plenty of storage space. The spacious bathroom was clean and well stocked. Breakfast was included, eggs and sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, Activia yogurt, bagels, juices, milk, cereal, coffee. No complaints on breakfast whatsoever! The pool was closed for maintenance but wasn't a big deal for us. Overall we highly recommend this hotel.

Beds clean and courteous staff. Pool needed a good cleaning..pile of sand or dirt in bottom of both pool and hot tub. Pool very cold hot tub very hot but not too hot. General wear and tear was an issue but it didn't cause us any concern.
Weight room pretty decent...son says its only need is a dumbbell set.. the staff Kept us stocked with towels.
Bathroom tiles needed grouted they were just setting on the floor, but we knew our room was not yet renovated. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. They do provide but it doesn't do great.. if you're used to water softner and have long hair it won't feel great... but the pressure was good and temperature was also good.
There was a lot of space and pull out sofa meant we had 3 queen beds and could leave the bed out the whole time with plenty of room to wander around room. I did feel our room was pretty clean despite being a little outdated. They didn't skimp on the pillows.
Conveniently located Satellite was decent...no extra perks really like your own Netflix and such.... but not a problem. Breakfast....sausage decent, pancakes was nice. Eggs...skip them...you'll thank me later. Bob evens around the corner. If needing to save money its a warm breakfast...if wanting sausage, eggs, etc.... not going to meet your expectation.
Hotels in this area are not that great from what I've seen. So this one got a 4 instead of a 3 from me. I hope that helps. If a polished hotel is a must this one might fall below what you want....if clean, safe, and low cost is your want its a safe choice.

Evening shift lady...sorry forgot name...she was hilarious.

Nice clean, spacious rooms. Fit 2 pack & plays for the babies in addition to having the pull out couch/bed in use. Not a lot of room to move around once the beds were all set, but 5 sleeping kids don't need to move about.
The bathroom sink didn't have a plug/stopper and it needed to be cleaned out. But I did not contact anyone about it(and forgot to comment at checkout).
The swimming pool looked a little murky and was on the cold side, but the kids had fun swimming.
Breakfast was good; in addition to the usual cold breakfast options there were fried eggs, sausage, and make your own waffles.

Just in case I don't have time after checking out. Just checked in and was pleasantly surprised. The cpl at the front desk were both polite and professional. The lobby was nice enough as is the room. It's all spacious, clean and relatively contemporary. For a "budget stay", I'd definitely recommend. For a "nice stay" in a small town/city, I'd also say you shouldn't be disappointed. Hope to investigate the breakfast but may be leaving too early.
