Seeking a new church
Extremely welcoming community. A force of goodness and love in Indianapolis!
This was the first UU Church that I've ever visited. All of my Metaphysical, Mystic, Spiritual friends online recommended that I should visit a Unitarian Universalist Church because they are very accepting of those with mystical spiritual beliefs. My boyfriend is Jewish and I am a New Age Pagan, we are in our mid to late twenties, and we were surprised when we walked into the Oaklandon UU church and barely saw anyone in there, lol, it was a very small church, I think there are about 15-20 members in the church. But I wanted to give the place a real chance, so we sat and stayed. I was extremely surprised that during the sermon they were so respectful and so loving to ALL beliefs. In the sermon they talked about so many different types of faiths and there were even pagan goddesses mentioned. The sermon delivered was powerful, loving, and inspirational. Not going to lie, I even wanted to cry at one point because my heart was so touched by the sermon. After the service was over, we went downstairs to get coffee, and talked with some of the members, the members were kind, open minded, and very accepting. This church may be small, and most of the church members here are of older age, but they are filled with so much light and kindness, you will definitely feel welcomed at this wonderful place. I know I will be back.
