Awesome place!
Kids loved sugar camp
I love this place! I don't visit as much as I should but I do make it there every year for sugar camp days!
It is a beautiful park. Maple syrup festival is great. The trilliums that carpet the forest floor in early spring are spectacular. Definitely a must see! The hike is easy to moderate and goes over a few gentle slopes and provides a good view of the forest . Very convenient to do with kids and family. Things are well-kept, too. Overall, a great park for a quick hike, picnic, botanical sightseeing during certain parts of the year.
Another wonderful place for nature viewing and birding and doing some great hikes. One if the few places in the area that has a sugar shack and taps maple syrup. A great place to be in all seasons.
So far the only history has been provided by the director of county parks: "Back in 1970 the park director at the time (Billy Hankins) and the park board president (Robert Fischgrund) decided it would be a great idea to install an all-season toboggan run on rails. When it was just about ready to be...
