My husband and I decided to find some new trails and found this one that had a waterfall only around an hour from Fort Wayne. Make sure to wear hiking boots or at least tennis shoes with a really good tread. Some of the trails were muddy and were more difficult. I don't suggest going after it rains bc you will slide all over.
We have visited twice so far and have really enjoyed the beauty of the trails and the nature that surrounds them. The trails are mostly unmarked once you start out on one so you just have to wander until you get the lay of the land. We felt like we had a better idea of where we were the second time than we did the first even though we were on mostly new trails. All the trails that we found going down to the waterfalls or lower trail were somewhat difficult with small kids and lots of mud (spring right now), but there may have been some trails we missed so we'll have to go back again for more exploring. Even though there were a couple rough patches and unmarked trails we still very much enjoyed our visit.
Nice gem of a place near Lagro. Went in early spring and will be back! Trails maps are available online & while the trail is not marked well, it’s easy to explore and compact. Just wandering we were able to find the waterfall trail which basically is down by the river. Need a decent & recent rain to see them. Within a mile is Hanging Rock which is worth the stop and right next to the road. Spartan facilities here so GO... before you GO
Had a great hike. Saw lots of Eagles. Trails need to be marked better and a map of the trails would help but still a fun day. Very beautiful.
